AN: this chapter shall deal with the past and the reasons for LeFave’s actions; I hope this explains a bit about his character.

LeFave sat watching the waves pass underneath his swinging legs.  His promised Angel would soon be appearing, Midii Une, the devil in a blue dress.

“My family have fought against society since the birth of our name, we are unstoppable.  We shall be triumphant, and the federation shall not stop me.  I have fought, and I will fight, to maintain my family's hold over society.  We have perished, we have won acclaim, but we have never failed, and I shall not be the first one to fail.  I will not fail. Honor and pride demand that I succeed. So my angel shall perish, or she shall bend to my will.  It is the only option.  The other possibilities shall not exist.  Absolute pacifism shall never exist; the human race doesn't want it.  Humans have always managed to fight, its in their nature, and by cutting out the violence, the will to fight, as some preach, is a call for disaster.  I have watched it all, and I will watch it all over and over again, it’s the only thing that is certain. If I don't win today, then I shall win another time, but I will never fail. I am the warrior, and I am the victor. I *am* the first and the last. The beginning and the last.  Believe me, I will be victorious.”

A smooth voice interrupted the man's monologue. “I would rethink that statement LeFave.”

“Why is that, my angel?”

“Because what you say is wrong. Yes, the human race does crave destruction, but we are becoming better than our forefathers. We want peace.  We strive for it.  Your delusional mind can't comprehend that the very core of humanity is changing and we are headed for that goal and driving force of life.”

“Is that so?” He bit back

“It is, LeFave, but there shall always be a rotten apple in the barrel, but those rotten apples will be eliminated time and time again. So I'm afraid your time is up.”

“It is? Well, I didn't know that Miss Une, thank you for informing me,” LeFave whispered as he turned to face the woman standing behind him, her gun trained on his heart.

“What are you playing at LeFave, you've changed,” Midii began, her blonde hair cascading down her back as she watched the older man.

“I have changed, the possibilities of the world have been opened to me, I am unstoppable now.”

“I doubt that LeFave,” she whispered, her finger caressing the trigger of her pistol.  “Goodbye, my friend.”

“Goodbye,” LeFave replied as he lunged over the edge of the cliff, a smile on his face as he heard her gasp of surprise.  It was all going to plan.

She was stronger than himself at this time, but he would gain strength, and he would succeed in his goal.  Revenge.  He would wait for the right time to strike.  Then she would present him with the perfect opportunity.

“Monsieur, she has made a grave error in her judgment. She has betrayed her people,” the voice insisted feverishly

“And what has she done Gabriel?”

“She has betrayed them!  She is working with the Preventers now.  Working to stop/your/plan.”

“She wouldn't do that, her people are her world, she is their leader and they trust her.  As much as a spy can be trusted that is.”

“But the one she loved is with them, she is helping him.”

“She is a woman of a cold heart, do you mean to say that the ice has been broken?”

“Yes, sir, she is no longer the cold hearted woman that ignited the fires of your desire and your heart.  She is vulnerable now, and weak, the perfect time for you to exact your revenge upon her.”

“No, this is perfect, let them succeed in thwarting our plans, another more interesting prospect has appeared.  The prospect of revenge.  We shall watch this play out and then when the time is right we will make her pay for her crimes committed against the Covenant of Spy's, and my family.”

“Yes, my lord.”

We shall watch her, and then strike when the iron is hot, LeFave mused.  He would have his revenge, he would.

“I have watched, for years, and then you presented me with the perfect opportunity, my angel, by betraying those you swore to serve. You do realize that you brought this on yourself, don’t you?” LeFave asked from the vidscreen, his eyes hungrily tracing the curves of his captive.

“Allez ŕ l'enfer LeFave, [1]” Midii spat, her eye’s glinting with fury as she struggled against the hands, which held her in place.

“My, my, my, Midii, switching languages now are you? Is it easier to express your anger in your native language? Are you so much more eloquent in French?” LeFave teased as Midii continued to struggle in brutal embrace.

“Je vous espčre putréfaction dans l'enfer vous bâtard de slimey. [2]” Midii said, her head hung in despair as tears of frustration fell like crystal droplets from her eyelashes.

“Temper, temper, my little firebrand, do you wish to repeat that in English so the commoners can understand your brash words? Or shall I just allow them to guess the insult’s and comments you’ve been tossing my way?”

“Go ahead, say what you like LeFave, I won’t retract anything I’ve said, I meant it all.”

“I know you did, and my angel, I assure you that I will enjoy playing with the lives of your loved ones, it shall be my greatest joy in life. Kill her! And follow the plan! No Deviations!”

“Yes sir!”

“Goodbye my angel,” LeFave whispered as Midii broke from her constraints, please issuing forth from her lips, LeFave forgotten.

“We were comrades, I had a reason for what I did, your actions betrayed the code! You allowed the enemy to find us! I did what I could, and I did betray the covenant I admit that, but it was called for!” Midii pleaded, as the two men pushed her continually, making her step closer and closer to the edge.

“Goodbye traitor!” The first man said as the first bullet hit Midii, impacting her body with a sickening sound.

“NO!!!” Trowa screamed as he watched her fall over cliff, her body limp like a rag doll.

“The perfect chance has been afforded to me,” LeFave laughed, as he stared at the angelic form, which lay crumpled before him.

The waves lapped at her broken body, her once pure white dress, torn and transparent. Her blonde hair lay tangled with seaweed and sand. And blood dotted the landscape. In his eyes she could not look more angelic or perfect, the sheer helplessness of her form added to the effect, she looked so innocent and childlike.

“I shall make good on my promise, my dear, and your loved ones, with crumple beneath my hand. I have already dealt a crushing blow, what I have in mind will only finish the job,” LeFave said with a smile as he lifted her body into his arms and headed for the waiting jeep. “You will pay for insulting me.”
