In the Moment by Captain Anonymous There was a chill in the air. Mitchell moved his arm around his wife, rubbing his hand against her warm stomach. He could hear Sylvia cue softly as she moved her hand to his. Mitchell could here her soft voice, “I didn’t think you were still awake.” Mitchell moved Sylvia’s hair back from her neck, gently rubbing his lips against her skin. He moved up towards her ear, and whispered, “I couldn’t sleep.” Sylvia moved her body, to face her husband. She laid her warm cheek on his chest. She closed her eyes, and listened to the sound of his heart beat. She could remember years ago, when he held her in his arms, as she cried. She rested her head against his chest, feeling the stiff cloth of his Alliance uniform. He was shaking as he held her, his arms held her lightly, as if she was made of glass. The sound of his heart beat, she would never forget it. Sylvia could feel her husband brushing her long hair away as he moved his lips along her neck. She moved slowly closer to him, bringing with her lips moving closer to his. Joel could feel the taste of her lips as he kissed her. He moved his hand along her black, moving the thick blankets over their bodies, carefully covering them from the cool night air. Sylvia’s body melted against Joel, as he moved his body over hers. He stared at his young wife for a moment, looking at just lovely she looked in the pale light. Joel could feel Sylvia rubbing her legs against his own under the silk sheets. He could feel his heart start to race, and his body tense. “Sylvia.......I love you so much.” He could hear the tender sound as she moaned lightly, as he entered her body. She felt the movement of his body against her own, each motion made her own heart beat faster. She tightened her grip on his shoulder, as her body tensed under the pleasure. “Please........C-Captain..........I love you, Oh God, I love you so much.” Mitchell could feel the tension rise inside of him, just before the final moment, just before it reached the high point. Until the moment in the sweet embrace, when they became one. “Oh God, yes.” Mitchell laid his head back on the pillow, breathing deeply. Sylvia moved the warms blankets back over them, and rested her head on his chest. Joel moved his arm around her, gently pulling her closer to him. He whispered her name lightly, “Sylvia........” “Joel, that felt so good.” Joel glanced down at his young wife, as she closed her eyes, as she made herself comfortable in his arms. ----------------------- Midii looked at the blank screen in front of her as she waited for the connection to enter. She took a deep breathe as the endless seconds passed. There was clicking sound as the picture finally came into focus and the line was connected. She heard the voice of the woman before her. “Hello Midii.” Midii said softly, “Hello Lady.” Midii could feel her heart sink inside of her. It been close to week since Johnnie had left, there was no word from him. “You don’t seem to be looking very well tonight Midii, I do hope that you are not sick.” Midii shook her head, “I’m fine, just have something on my mind.” Lady looked down at the keyboard in front of her, “I understand. I was worried there may have been something wrong with .............” Lady paused for a moment. Midii looked at her cousin, “I should have told you sooner, but I got married.” Lady nodded, “I know.” “Oh?” Lady looked away from Midii, “Vic Norton mentioned it.” She lied, she didn’t want to lie any more. She couldn’t tell Midii that she had been there, and what she had seen. Not now, not like this. Midii nodded, “We’ve only been married for a short time now.” After a moment, “During the war he was a Gundam Pilot.” Lady mouthed the words with her lips, making no sound, “A Gundam Pilot................” Midii said softly, “I’m sorry.” “Don’t apologize.” Lady went on after a moment, “Its just that I never had any idea that you would have met someone like him.” Lady sat silently, still not making eye contact with her cousin. “It’s been so long since we talked, everything has changed so much.” Midii said, “I know things will never like they were before the war. Nut there is no reason that we can’t be a family again. We’ve...........We’ve all been apart for so long. I can still remember those times, back when we were young.” Lady looked back into Midii’s blue eyes. “I thought about you and your brothers then. There were so many times, that I wanted to go back, and make everything like it was before. I know that I hurt you and things would never be the same. After the end of the war, everything was gone. There no where left for me, no one waiting for me. I’ve been alone.” “It doesn’t have to be that way any more.” It was well after eleven when the screen went blank. Midii stood up from the chair and stretched the stiff muscles in her neck. She moved her finger against the power button. She walked into the living room, where Trowa sat, holding the sleeping Angel in his arms. Midii could see the tired look in Trowa’s eyes, he had been awake just as long as she hand. She smiled as she sat down beside him. Trowa said softly, “I gave her bottle, she’s asleep.” Midii took the small Angel from her husband and craddled her in her arms. Trowa whispered, “Are you all right?” Midii nodded, “I feel a little better now. We’ll talk more tomorrow, I don’t want to wake Marie.” Trowa looked at his daughter as she slept, “All right.” Midii stood, still holding the Angel in her arms. Trowa stood a moment later, holding the empty bottle in his hand. Trowa stopped to turn out the light as they walked out the room. ---------------- Johnnie sat at the window, looking out over the sun as it rose in the morning sky. The sun had rose red in the sky that morning. Marlene stood behind Johnnie as he looked out. She looked o over the red sky, “In the colonies, we never got to see sunsets. When I went back into space, I was the thing I missed most.” She sat down next Johnnie, taking in the morning sunset with him. “I didn’t think that you would be here this morning when I got up.” Johnnie could still feel the tension inside of him. He had thought about leaving the night before, but he could bring himself to go. Marlene didn’t know just how desperate he had become. He had been her with this entire time, waiting, going over and over it all in his mind. For the time in years, he was back with Midii, and they were a family again. He knew shouldn’t be mad at his sister. She had so much for him. Lady, she was the one. She was the one that had caused him so much pain. Marlene could feel the coldness in his heart and soul, the anger, the pain. “I’ll be leaving this afternoon. I’ve got to go back.” Marlene closed her eyes, “To see your sister.” moved his head slightly, “I’ve got to talk to her about this. I can’t let this go any longer.” Marlene touched her lover, “Then what?” “I’ll what ever it takes to protect them. I lost my family once, I’m going to lose them again. I’m not going to let her take them away again. I’ll.......” “Please Johnnie, don’t act this way, its not like you. I know that you don’t want to hurt anyone again.” Johnnie turned to look as her, he moved his hand along her warm cheek, back to her short blonde hair. Definately not the end.
