~*~After Colony Century~*~
This is the story of five boys who thrust themselves into a war-torn world and changed the course of history. To understand its flow, let us fully comprehend the A.C. era!
001: --After Colony (A.C.) calendar established.
--Development
of space colonies begins. Conflicts on
Earth are still widespread.
020: --Construction of space colonies begins at
Lagrange point 1 (L1), based on the results of research conducted at permanent
space stations. Earth’s nations fund
colony construction to promote national prestige. The number of colony workers quickly increases due to
dissatisfaction with the fighting on Earth.
Construction is severely delayed due to newly discovered diseases and
harsh conditions.
040: --The conflicts on Earth spread to
space. Acts of sabotage frequently
occur between warring nations’ colonies
--The friction intensifies, and many
incomplete colonies are destroyed.
050: --The
companies constructing the colonies reevaluate their plans, and many
development projects are discontinued or postponed. International conflicts cause a decrease in funding for the
project; the colonization project itself begins to be reevaluated and its
popularity wanes.
--The nations of the Middle East join the colony construction
effort. With the oil industry
exhausted, the Middle East turns to space colony development, and continues the
construction.
--Colony construction begins at the other Lagrange points.
070: ---The
limited supply of construction materials becomes a source of friction between
colonies. Resource supplies from Earth dwindle;
nations and colonies plunder resources from each other.
---The Middle East takes a
leadership role in mediating the conflict.
Special envoys are dispatched to each colony. Use of asteroids as supply
and resource satellites begins. Thanks
to a new resource supply system, a confrontation between colonies is avoided,
and colony development continues.
102: --The
first space colony is completed at L1.
--The colony construction rush begins. A
Space Colony Orbital Community Cluster (or “Colony Cluster”) is formed.
--Conflicts on Earth intensify.
The pace of emigration to space suddenly increases. The space colonists soon number 15% of the
human population.
130:
--The rate of emigration to space continues to
increase, causing a degeneration of Earth’s nations.
133:
--The “United Earth Sphere Alliance” is
established. To help avoid conflict, a
collective security organization is created, run under a council system.
--The
“United Earth Sphere Allied Forces” are created for peace keeping
purposes. The Alliance brings
uncooperative nations under control with overwhelming military power, and takes
an active role in stamping out conflict.
--The Long clan is forced to emigrate to colony A0206.
139:
--A system for colonial self-government is
established. The colonies are wary of
Alliance rule. The Alliance sees this
as opposition, and plans a military buildup.
140:
--The colonies are ordered to join the Alliance
--The colonies renounce their right to self-government. A number of pro-independence activists take
their activities underground.
145: --Delegations
from Earth are reported missing at L1.
Illegal independence movements intensify.
147:
--Alliance forces are stationed at each
colony. The Alliance places proxies in
each nation, and begins military domination of Earth.
149: --The Alliance general assembly decides to
transfer control of the colonies to their mother countries. As the colonies’ economies improve,
investment and emigration increase.
There is a period of tentative peace and stability.
150:
--The Colony Issues Council is established. Amid increasing opposition to the Alliance,
colony administrators establish an Issues Mediation Council. Chapters are established on several
colonies.
165: --The
Colony Issues Council elects Heero Yuy as its representative. The council establishes chapters in each
colony. Heero Yuy essentially becomes
the leader of the colonies. Heero Yuy
advocates the principles of non-violence and demilitarization.
170: --Heero
Yuy’s ideology gains supporters in the colonies and in some of Earth’s nations.
173:
--The “Declaration of Colony Demilitarization”
is announced at L1, with a decision to formally adopt it 2 years later. Under Heero Yuy’s leadership, the colonies
declare themselves demilitarized and autonomous.
--The Romefeller Foundation begins mobile suit development. The Romefeller Foundation, the financial
manager of the United Earth Sphere Alliance, is annoyed at the colonies’ independence
movement, and begins to prepare for military intervention.
174: --Heero
Yuy makes a tour of Earth’s nations.
Beginning with the nations of Asia—the mother countries of L1—he
concentrates on those that sympathize with his pacifist ideology. More countries begin to support the
“Declaration of Colony
Demilitarization,” and he coordinates efforts for independence.
175: --Heero
Yuy is assassinated. The adoption of
the “Declaration of Colony Demilitarization” is permanently halted. The colonies lose their unity and are thrown
into chaos.
--A few scientists flee from the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team. The development plan is changed
to focus on mass production mobile suits, and the Leo is produced.
--The secret military organization “OZ” is established.
176: --The
Alliance dispatches its first mobile suit corps, the “Specials,” to the
colonies. The mobile suit corps places
the colonies under military control.
Communications between colonies is disrupted, and colony solidarity is
hindered.
177: --The
Alliance’s military domination of Earth intensifies. The Specials rack up numerous achievements in battle, gaining
power and influence.
180:
--King Peacecraft advocates “total
pacifism.” The Peacecraft royal family,
which rules one of the Alliance’s member nations, receives support from some
other countries for its policy of “total pacifism.”
182:
--The Alliance launches a surprise attack on the
capital of King Peacecraft’s Sanc Kingdom.
The kingdom is destroyed in the course of the Alliance’s military
intervention; King Peacecraft dies and the prince and princess are reported
missing.
187: --The “Maxwell Church tragedy.”
188:
--Uprising at Colony X18999. The assassin Odin Lowe dies. Heero meets Dr. J.
190: --“No-name,”
a young mercenary, meets Middie Une.
191: --Terrorists
attack and Allied base near Ambassador Darlian’s estate.
192: --Duo meets Professor G on the moon.
193: --Treize Khushrenada is appointed leader of
OZ.
--The resource satellite MO-III is
occupied by the Maganac Corps. Quatre
meets the Maganac Corps.
194: --Alliance forces attack Colony A0206. Wufei pilots Shenlong Gundam for the first
time.
195:
--“Operation Meteor” is carried out. Five Gundams descend to Earth as a part of
the colonies’ secret plot against the Alliance, and begins attacking Alliance
military bases.
--Minister Darlian is assassinated.
--Field Marshal Noventa and many other Alliance leaders are killed in
action. The five Gundams gather at New
Edwards Air Base.
--“Operation Daybreak” is initiated.
OZ begins dismantling the Alliance, placing the entire Earth under the
control of the Romefeller Foundation.
--The colonies are taken hostage, and the Wing Gundam self-destructs.
--Zechs withdraws from OZ. Zechs
and Heero clash in Antarctica.
--Special Envoy Lady Une begins conciliatory overtures to the
colonies. OZ, assuming the guise of a
peacekeeping organization, releases the colonies from Alliance control. Meanwhile, OZ develops the unmanned mobile
suits known as “mobile dolls,” and intensifies its military buildup. The Gundams appear to become enemies of the
colonies.
--The Gundam Sandrock self-destructs at a base in Singapore. Two other Gundams go to space.
--Internal disturbance at the Winner family’s resource satellites. The head of the Winner family dies.
--The Wing Gundam Zero attacks a colony.
--Treize defies the Romefeller Foundation, fall from power, and is taken
prisoner. A schism develops within OZ;
the conflict between supporters of the new OZ and supporters of Treize deepens.
--OZ invades the Sanc Kingdom.
Relena Peacecraft, who had inherited the pacifist ideal and restored the
kingdom, receives support from many nations, and becomes a target for OZ
attack. The Wing Gundam Zero and Gundam
Epyon clash.
--Relena is crowned Queen. She
is inaugurated as the Romefeller Foundation’s representative. The Romefeller Foundation uses Relena’s unifying
power to gain support from many nations; the Earth is temporarily at
peace. The five Gundams gather aboard
the space battleship Peacemillion.
--The anti-Earth organization “White Fang” rises in rebellion in the colonies. Milliardo Peacecraft, also known as Zechs, is appointed leader of White Fang. White Fang captures the giant battleship Libra from OZ’s space forces and, upon its completion, declares war on Earth.
--Treize revives OZ. Relena is
relieved of her position.
--The final battle between White Fang and
the forces of the World Nation.
Treize’s World Nation forces confront the Libra. To bring war to an end, the five Gundams
join the battle. They blow up the
battleship Libra as it begins entering Earth’s atmosphere. The war ends. Treize dies in battle, and Zechs is missing in action.
--The “Earth Sphere United Nation” is established.
196:
--Colony X18999 declares war on Earth. The Mariemaia army launches the true
Operation Meteor.
